​Happy kids Family Day Care's Program 

Happy kids Family Day Care's program is base on the Early Years Learning Framework of principles, practices and outcomes.With our objective of focusing on children's learning and wellbeing. 

Our program for the children in care has its own phase for each age group.There are factors to consider when planning the programs for each age group. In our Family Day Care Service we are flexible and consider parents' input very important  in the changes that may affect their child during the transition from Home care to a Family Day Care setting. We aim to make everyday a welcoming  experience for both parents and children  as we keep  changing , developing and improving  the structure of our planning, promoting and assessment of  learning in our service.

Daily Routine Schedule

  • 8:00-8:40 Parents' are obligated to  do electronic sign in & sign-out(via Hubhello ESI-QR Code) after dropping off and picking up their children. The children have to wash their hands upon arrival before playing(QA2).Free play indoors.A variety of resources presented to  children's interest. Art lesson may take place.

  • 8:45-9:00 Toileting/Nappy changing /Hand washing/Preparing the children for morning tea  EYLF 2

  • 9:00-9:30 Morning tea(Fruits to eat) /Interactive time: discussions, games and singing songs takes place after.

  • 9:30-9:45 Hand washing/Nappy Changing or toileting if needed

  • 9:45-10:00 Intentional teaching: Sunsmart Program in preparation for outdoor play. The children are encouraged to wear their hats and apply their personal sunscreen lotions.The educator will teach and assist the children. Use of Velcro shoes and roll-on sunscreen lotion are recommended for children to  encourage independence and being self reliant. EYLF 1/3

  • There will be a short chat about  our classroom rules and reminders  prior to going outside the playground. Like, "being kind to each other",avoid shouting or screaming, saying good manner words "please and thank you" often and more.

  • 10:00- 11:00 Outdoor Play . If wet, creative activity or free play activities will be set-up inside.

  • 11:00-11:15 Prepare for lunch time(indoor or lunch picnic). Children will be assisted to wash their hands.While washing their hands we either count 1-20 or sing the "Happy Birthday Song" or " I Have 2 Hands" together.

  • 11:15-12:15 Lunch Time : Children are encouraged to eat their vegetables or salad first before having the main meal.Educator sits with the children and encourages self-feeding.The children are assisted to organise their food containers and bags after eating. We also have "Interactive Time"(Intentional Teaching) during lunch time .Educator presents books to read, have a short discussion about the books read, toy demonstration.

  • 12:15-12:45 The children and educator help each other in cleaning the dining area after eating(Practical life experience-PLE).Indoor playtime /change nappies/toileting follows.

  • 12:45-1:00 Children and educator help each other setting up the beds and cots(PLE).

  • 1:00-2:30 Sleep & Rest Time.  Educator assists the children to settle in bed. 

  • 1:15-1:45 Educator's Lunch Time

  • 1:00-2:30 Educator checks the children(under 2yo)sleeping every 10 minutes.

  • 1:45-2:30 The educator does her documentation of the daily checklist(toileting/nappy change, sleep time etc) which are submitted and presented to parents through our apps for daily updates

  • 2:30-2:45 Change nappies/Toileting /Hand washing.

  • 2:45-3:00 Children and educator help each other in putting away the bed covers, blankets and beds. (QA5)

  • 3:00-3:30 Afternoon Tea

  • 3:30-3:45 (QA2)Hand washing/Sunsmart Program. The children wear their hats, shoes and apply sunscreen lotion to prepare for an active outdoor play(PLE).

  • 3:45-4:15 Outdoor  Play : EYLF 3- Physical well being.If wet, the children will have free play  inside doing spontaneous activities such as memory card games ,constructive play or puzzle play. Music lessons and more may also take place . Intentional activities such as art lessons or prewriting activities like colouring, tracing and writing/reading may occur during this time 

  • 4:15-4:30 If from outdoor play , the children will transition to indoor play. By the entrance, the children will hang their coats and hats before washing their hands. Change nappies/toileting if needed.

  • 4:30-5:00 Indoor activities. Free play or completion of the children's artwork, group games, group singing. Prepare the children's artwork to take home. Prepare the children for pick-up.

  • Reminder:

  • Parents are obligated to electronically sign-out (via Hubhello) their children during pickup time.

Note: The educator organises different types of emergency drill ones every month with all the children.

Interactive Time : Takes place after morning tea time or in the afternoon by 4:00pm. We sing and have rhymes, have discussions, play games , read picture or story books.Followed often by having Art lessons .

During the day , the children are encouraged to drink water frequently.
