First day of the year 2026 at Happy kids FDC in Cammeray

Updated: 6 days ago

It’s a week of adjustment and getting back to our usual routine. New toys, new set-up of the playroom and dining area .There’s an added tower of stuff toys that was added in the corner of the playroom but was totally ignored must be because of the new and interesting toys that the children preferred to play with.

The habit of putting away the toys after playing has never been forgotten that even the youngest child seemed to copy pretty well , and it was just the first day.

I have a planned program but hearing what the children like to do and play with was most important. On our first day of the year 2026, the children played often with the battery-free

toys such as the spinning toys like the top, helicopter, a bay blade like-shark toy , and target toys more often than any toys in the playroom. Hammer and nails, catch the fish toys, microwave and the musical toys such as the phone, xylophones , piano and a lot more were interesting to the children too. Outdoor play was all active and a bit of creative play. We played with the inflatable toys including the regular water melon ball and the “giant” beach ball as we threw, caught , rolled and kicked a bit. Then we played water, such as water painting, water blaster and boat play. They played in the tracks with their ride on toys too but not as much as when they played with water. At the end after playing in the play gym, and having a bit of a running race, the children used the water from the boat tray to water the plants. The children commented, it was a fun busy day… they looked tired and exhausted. All kids exclaimed just after playing outside, “We’re hungry!!”. And so, we rushed going inside and we all had lunch.
